Kate Henshaw-Nuttall was born in Calabar, Crossriver State, to the family of four. She is the eldest of them. She came into the world on 19 of July 1971. She is presently 44 years of age (in 2016). Kate formerly worked at the Bauchi State General Hospital. Her passion for acting made her dump her job as a microbiologist, thereby applying for auditioning in 1993. She was invited for an audition and was handed the role in a movie titled When the Sun Sets. This happened to be her first role in a Nollywood movie, which heightened her success in the industry. Before this, she had been involved in many Nigerian movies and soap operas. Today, she is an award-wining actress and politician
Kate Henshaw spent the early years life in Lagos, where she attended primary education. She later travelled back to Calabar, Crossriver State, where she attended her secondary education. Furthermore, she spent a year at the University of Calabar where she did a remedial course for a year, before proceeding to the University of Lagos. There she read Microbiology.

Controversial issues with this prominent actor were not that of fracases between fans, friends, family members and the likes. She has been an easy-going person. However, She recently had a bad time and suffered loss when her home in Lekki was razed to the ground in a fire incident. The unfortunate incident occurred while she was on tour, shooting a comedy movie tagged Do Good TV Comedy Series. Although she lost so much in assets to the incident, she thanked her fans the following month for their support, care, love and messages. She was full of gratitude to God that although everything was lost, one thing was safe – her life.
