Adesua Etomi, the fast rising actress and singer was born in Owerri, South Eastern Nigeria to a soldier father and Civil engineer mother. She hails from Edo State, Nigeria. She was born on February 22, (year not certain). Youngest of three siblings, she naturally learned to express herself through performance. She discovered her penchant for acting while in primary school. She joined a drama club and made some significant progress. Adesua felt the need to explore deep beyond her state. She fulfilled this by proceeding with her studies in Diplomas in Arts performer, Musical and Physical Theatre at the City College in Coventry, United Kingdom. She starred in three plays for the Arena Theatre, while studying to acquire Bachelor’s degree at the University of Wolverhampton. Upon completing her studies in 2009, Adesua bagged a First Class degree and a theatre award for the best performance in one of her pieces.
After her studies, she strayed away from the acting dream for a while, for about two to three years, in search of job to up her experiences in the world. The vibrant calling came again. This time, she got on board fully. She was staged in the Miller’s Tale, which was displayed at the Saga Tiata-Edinburg Fringe Festival. By 2013, the popular actress made a trip back to Lagos. She had been away since the tender age of 13. Visiting home brought her good fortunes and opportunities to display her talent. She met a growing film and theatre scene into which she decided to venture. This increased her popularity as she appeared on stage plays all over Nigeria. Some of these plays include Anatomy of a Woman, Crystal Slipper, London Life Lagos Living and the Secret Life of Baba Segi’s Wives. Later in the year 2013/2014, Adesua landed the lead role in her first movie – Knocking On Heavens Door, produced by Emem Isong. Adesua is presently on the go for another thrilling piece titled Ayamma -Music in the Forest, with the same producer. This is set to be released in December 2016. With her recent skillful Performance, Adesua has caught the attention of the industry, fans and critics alike. In November 2015, leading journalist, Film critic, jury panelist of the Festival Aficionado and Film Awards tagged her ‘The new princess silver screen.’ She is no doubt a model worthy of emulation.
She studied primarily in Corona school, Victoria Island. Later, she attained diplomatic recognition as an Art, musical and theatre performer at the City College in Coventry, United Kingdom. She finally studied Theatre Art and graduated with First Class Honours from University of Wolverhampton.
She mostly plays sympathetic and emotionally affecting roles. In her most of her roles, she displays her musical prowess, which rings on in the minds of her viewers. Her spiritual role is also noteworthy. No doubt, she once said in an interview, ‘I don’t joke with God.’ This truth is portrayed in her acts.
