ABU DHABI: A five-wicket haul by pacer Hasan Ali and a splendid debut century by Imam-ul-Haq propelled Pakistan to a series win over Sri Lanka, on Wednesday.

The hosts routed Sri Lanka by seven wickets to clinch the series and go 3-0 up in it. Hasan Ali’s brilliant bowling had reduced the visitors to 208 in their innings.

A solid partnership stand by the debuting Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman set the stage for Pakistan’s successful chase. Imam made a brilliant 100 from 125 deliveries, making him the second Pakistani to score a century on his ODI debut.

In-form batsman Babar Azam was only able to contribute 30 runs this time before he was dismissed. Earlier, Fakhar Zaman had been stumped when he had attempted to hit one out of the park, only to be stumped by the keeper.

The Man of the Match award was given to Imam-ul-Haq for his splendid century against Sri Lanka.
