On May 11th, 2016, the Buhari administration announced the removal of the fuel subsidy with a recommended pump price for fuel at ₦145 per litre.
Immediately following the announcement by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, some filling stations around the country have changed their prices to reflect the subsidy removal .
