The recent series of rape cases which have grabbed the attention of the whole nation has become a serious topic of discussion. The Kathua and the Unnao rape case have outraged the netizens and they are asking for the justice to the victims and a severe punishment to the accused.
A law has been passed where the accused will be given a death penalty for raping a girl below 12 years. This has brought a sigh of relief for the people.
During a recent media interaction, when Anushka Sharma was asked about her views on the same, she said that she is 1000% in support of this law.
She stated, “I am very happy with it. I will be completely, 1,000 per cent in support of the most severe punishment that there is (for someone) who spoils something as innocent as a child.”
She further said, “Child rape is the worst thing a human being can do. Strictest and the harshest punishment possible should be given to such people.”
Reacting to the Kathua rape case, Anushka expressed her disappointment and said that she is extremely hurt.
She stated, “Like every one in the country, I am deeply hurt by the incident. Even now when I think about it, I feel disgusted and extremely emotional. Like I said in my statement earlier, the most severe punishment has to be meted out to the people involved.”
On the work front, Anushka will be seen in Sui Dhaga: Made in India opposite Varun Dhawan and Zero which also stars Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan.
