November 12, 1934, Cincinnati, OH – November 19, 2017, Bakersfield, CA
Born Charles Miller Maddox (later on taking the last name Manson from a man whom his mother later married) never had the easiest life early on. Consistently in and out of juvenile detention centers, his life was focused around crime ranging from stealing cars and other such behavior at just the age of 9.
As he got older he tried to become a musician with no success. During this time he started to gather followers which, combined with drugs and sex orgies, started the infamous ‘Manson Family’ that stationed themselves primarily at Spahn Ranch. After shocking the world with the Polanski Murders, Charles Manson was apprehended and incarcerated along with other members of the ‘family’.
Originally Manson was scheduled for the death penalty, it was then dropped to life in prison when California abolished the death penalty on July 16, 2014 – which there has been nobody actually executed since 2006. Getting a parole hearing every 7 years, which Manson stopped attending after awhile, he was naturally rejected each time. He was pronounced dead at 8:13 pm at a hospital in Kern County, California. Though verified to have had three children, one of which had committed suicide in 1993, it is unclear the exact number of children he might have actually fathered in his lifetime. Some accounts claim it to be around 14, but nothing has been deemed certain.
